Consulting heritage collections
The heritage collections can be consulted at the Bibliothèque Armand Salacrou in the space designed for that purpose during the library's opening hours. The reading tables are equipped with electric sockets and the space has Wi-Fi internet access.
The use of a pencil for taking notes is recommended; reading stands, armchairs and gloves for consulting the manuscripts are available on-site.
The documents which constitute the heritage collections cannot be loaned out and can only leave the premises for exhibitions. This applies to all the documents which date back to before 1945 as well as later documents which are of great rarity (Article 44 of the internal regulations).
In addition, the sharing of certain fragile or precious documents and works in the reserve collection is at the discretion of the curator, as indicated on the specific consultation bulletin. Substitute documents such as microfilms and electronic documents can be provided in the place of originals which have become too fragile (Article 9 of the internal regulations).
For specific searches, it is advisable to contact the curator in advance:
The taking of photographs without a flash with a digital camera is permitted after receiving authorisation.
